Employee Spotlight

Each month we would like to take the opportunity to introduce one of our dedicated team members. This month we would like to give the spotlight to Thomas L. Jones, senior sales representative. Thomas didn't start out his career hoping to focus on sales. Thomas was initially one of our customer service representatives and was quickly promoted to our sales department due to his exceptional ease working with people.

Thomas has led sales each month and strives to provide all his customers with superb service. Thomas is currently head trainer of all sales representatives in the Syracuse area, but will be actively helping our new branches of operations in Rochester, Utica, and Albany train their sales representatives.

On his free time, Thomas enjoys hiking and camping with his family. He is an avid fan of Syracuse University football and basketball. He loves to attend Syracuse University basketball games.

After five consecutive years of decline, the average number of fire alarm systems being installed by dealers/integrators returned to its 2007 total. Significant shifts were seen in the most common types of fire system projects as residential picked up 7 percentage points to tie with office buildings (up 2 points) atop the list. Hospitals, schools and universities slid from 21 percent to 13 percent, and industrial manufacturing retained its 13-percent status. In total, 53 percent of security dealers/integrators install fire/life-safety systems.

The Smart Smoke Alarm System directly communicates with first responders to allow for quicker assessments. This feature differs from the typical 3rd party servicing which ultimately wastes time in alerting first responders.

The Smart Smoke Alarm System is the only smoke detector to have on-demand scan when smoke is sensed, thus alleviating any privacy issues when dealing with real-time scanning. It is always a pleasure to announce our yearly accomplishments to those who’ve contributed to the success of this growing company; that is each and every member of the A Plus Technology family and our loyal clients. The accomplishments include: our yearly sales, an increase in our servicing staff, and the grand opening of four locations.

First off, over the last year we’ve surpassed our 500,000th Smart Smoke Alarm customer.  Our 2011 sales surpass every year in the last 10 years by over 50 percent; and there is still two quarters left.

From an executive level it is clear as to why A Plus Technologies has accomplished so much this year. We comprise of hard working individuals who continuously strive to make this company what it is today. Simply put, we are nothing without your due diligence.

To meet the high-demand of the Smart Smoke Alarm system, it was a team decision to increase our 20 member staff to over 100 members. The insight of our Engineers, Developers, Accountants, Salesmen and Saleswoman were beyond exceptional in decision to increase our servicing power.

Our sales in 2011 have spanned across New York which led to the grand opening of 4 locations: New York City, Utica, Rochester, and Albany. Interestingly enough, our competitors ONELink and Rapid Response have closed up shop in these respective areas after the introduction of these new branches.

Currently we are working on improving our company brand by developing a social media campaign, we are also working on improving the Smart Smoke Alarm system by improving its signal strength in distance communications, and we are looking to integrate motion detection for additional security.

With the accomplishments behind us and the current tasks ahead, we seek to exceed expectations in the promotion of family safety and security.
